Boys' Soccer ends regular season with win
May 4, 2011By Nate Nicholas of UMS Wright Prep School
So another regular season comes to end and the Bulldogs put in another great performance to beat Fairhope 2-1. It was a great way to end the regular season with the Bulldogs probably putting up there best team performance. UMS got on top half way through the first half with a goal by Nicholas Frangos off an assist by Andy Cope. UMS had a couple of other changes in the first half twharted by some questionable officiating but the Pirates also created a couple of opportunities. The second half the Bulldogs would double there lead when Pete Blankenship got fouled in the box by the Fairhope goalkeeper with Nicholas Frangos finishing the penalty kick. The Pirates would score off of a corner with about 12 minutes left to make it 2-1 and that was the way it would finish.
The team shape and work ethic was at an all-time high and was very effident in the play. The Bulldogs will meet LAMP on Tuesday May 3 in the first round of the playoffs. Good Luck in the playoffs DOGS!
