Home » Boys' Soccer NewsBulldogs beat Bayside 2-0 to get back on trackApril 13, 2011 By Nate Nicholas of UMS Wright Prep SchoolGood Morning Soccer Fans, UMS got back to winning ways on Tuesday night against Bayside Academy with a victory of 2-0. The Bulldogs started out strong and score off a corner from Andy Cope which was helped in by a player from Bayside. The goal came in first 5 minutes and really helped settle UMS into a rhythm. The were numerous interchanges between Nicholas Frangos, Andy Cope, Parker Baxter, Hunter Seale, and Pete Blankenship. The team was really clicking and scored the second goal by Andy Cope which was assisted by David Cadden off of a long throw. The second half stayed exciting but no other goals were scored with both teams creating some chances. The Bulldog defense stayed strong led by Chandler Schneider's 11th shutout and strong performances by Jacob Fisher, Tom Taylor, Andrew Monson, Luke Walton, and David Cadden. It was a great win coming back from Spring Break but you could tell the boys got tired in the second half. The Bulldogs will finish this week with two games on Thursday at Spanish Fort at 7 and on Friday against Daleville at 5:30 at home. Thanks for the support, Coach Nicholas
