GBB: Indians Claim Second in Holiday Invitational

Twin Lakes High SchoolTwinLakesgave a strong showing at its annual holiday tournament. The Indians took runner-up honors in the eight team field which boasted some of the state’s finest squads.
The locals began tournament play with a convincing 59-44 victory overTaylor. This one was over nearly as quickly as it started.TwinLakesbolted to a 23-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Three Indians registered double figure performances. Laurhen Pickett led the way with a game high 17 points. Chloe McAchren was right behind with 16 points and Morgan Gutwein added 14 markers.
The semi-finals saw Indianapolis Cathedral fall to the tribe. TL again started quickly, jumping to a 16-10 lead after one period. Cathedral closed to within three at halftime, but the locals took the advantage back to seven entering the final quarter. They hung on for a tense 44-41 victory. Pickett again led the way with 15 points as part of a double-double performance. She also garnered 10 rebounds. McAchren added 14 points and seven caroms.
Highly regardedLebanondowned the Indians in the championship tilt by a count of 72-52. The second quarter spelled doom forTwinLakesas the Tigers erased a one point deficit after eight minutes with a 26-10 blitz entering halftime. McAchren led the locals with 19 points in the contest.
TwinLakesis now 9-4 on the year and will return to action January 3 at conference foe Lafayette Central Catholic.
