Warriors Beat Katy Faith West
September 20, 2011
The Woodlands Christian Academy The Woodlands Christian Warriors took care of business on Friday
with a statement win over Katy Faith West by the score of 38-11. The
game wasn’t even that close as the Warriors parlayed two defensive
scores and two 2 point conversions into an early 16-0 lead. Cray Noah
scooped up a fumble and returned it for the first score and Todd
Eaglin intercepted a 3rd down pass by the Eagles and raced down the
sideline for the second touchdown. The Warriors then bent but didn’t
break while allowing the Eagles a field goal. Relying heavily on the
legs of RB Cray Noah and QB Todd Eaglin, TWCA went on a long drive
capped off by a short Noah touchdown run and two point conversion to
stake a 24-3 halftime lead.
It was more of the same in the second half as QB Todd Eaglin began
to put his stamp on the game, gaining yards on the ground in bunches
and finishing runs hard. He then hit WR James Bento for an easy 21
yard scoring strike and two point conversion. Going back to the
ground, Cray Noah completed the scoring for TWCA with a 7 yard
touchdown to put the game out of reach. The Warriors defense gave up
a total of 3 first downs between the first quarter and the final drive
of the game when the Eagle starters put up a score on the young
Warriors with 55 seconds left.
This week the Warriors travel for the first time this season to
Bryan to play perennial bullies Brazos Christian in a non-district
contest. Go Warriors!
