The Trojans, coached by Trevor Miller, were led by sophomore Delaney Jensen who was 5 th with a time of 17:24 ; improving her time by almost a minute from last year on this course. Taylor Jensen was 13 th at 18:21 , Marris Clark was 34 th at 20:10 , Bailey Core 35 th at 20:12 , and Trisha Collins was 55 th at 23:24 . The Trojans' top four did a good job of running on a tough course and competed against mainly larger schools. Delaney kept up with Sara Dickenson, last years 3A Champion, for a good portion of the race and now knows what she needs to be able to run to be a top runner in the state. Taylor has been improving throughout the season and Bailey and Marris will be looked upon for continued improvement throughout the rest of the season. Ottumwa won the girls race with 33 points, Newton took second with 72 points and Knoxville placed third with 78 points.
