NEW MADISON, Ohio – Tyler Cook threw a one-hitter on Wednesday as Tri-Village advanced to an Ohio Division IV sectional final with a 5-1 victory over Cedarville.

Cook struck out eight and allowed one unearned run. He took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Cedarville struck for a one-out double.

“Tyler Cook did an outstanding job tonight,” said Tri-Village coach Jim Maples.

Tanner Maples went 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Patriots, while Jonny Wilson was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Trent Laux was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Tri-Village (12-13) will face the winner of today’s Bethel vs. Franklin Monroe game in a sectional final on May 21.

“It’s either win or go home, so we’re glad we’re not going home yet,” coach Maples said. “We’re playing pretty good at a good time of the year for us.”
