Falcons, down 2-0, rally for comeback

November 9, 2011
Tri-Nine Conference

CARY - Green Hope held off a pesky Enloe team to defeat the Eagles 4-2 and set up a rematch with defending NCHSAA 4-A soccer champion Jordan.

The Falcons (20-1) had to rally from 2-1 down in the second half Saturday before a nervous Green Hope crowd. But junior midfielder Kellen Foster tied the match with his second goal - a header that appeared to bounce off an Enloe player and into the net with 24 minutes and 15 seconds left.

Senior Tyler Carroll gave the Falcons the lead with a flip kick back into the net with less than 15 minutes remaining. Less than ten minutes later, Rodrigo Ortiz made it 4-2.

"They got one of the best players in the state, so we knew it was a big test for us," Green Hope coach Andrew Chadwick said of Enloe's Mike Paye.
