Green Hope marches to third round
October 26, 2011Tri-Nine Conference
CARY - Green Hope freshmen girls tennis players Jurasia Horvat and Brantley Belk arrived this fall with different expectations, but they've provided the Tri-Nine Conference's traditional power with similar results.
Horvat and her family moved to Cary from Florida when she was in elementary school, and she says she came to understand the Falcons' reputation. She looked forward to wearing Green Hope's colors.
But Belk and her family didn't arrive in Cary from Asheville until August, and she says she knew nothing about Green Hope's tradition.
"I Googled them,” Belk said. “I read about their players that have gone on to play in college.”
Now that the post-season has arrived, Horvat and Belk have provided depth while playing important roles in Green Hope's continued success.
