Imps win 'ugly' against Green Hope

October 26, 2011
Tri-Nine Conference

CARY - There is an old expression in football that there's no such thing as a bad win, but Cary coach Ben Kolstad admitted this one tested the limits.

The Imps beat Green Hope 28-8 Friday night at Cooper Field in a game marred by multiple personal fouls.

"Ugly,” Kolstad said. “I'm proud of the way they finished the game and did what they had to do win the game. I think we got frustrated by the type of game it was.”

The No. 11-ranked Imps improved to 7-2 overall and 5-2 in the Tri-Nine Conference with the win in their regular-season home finale. Green Hope lost its sixth straight game to fall to 2-8 and 0-7.
