Green Hope’s shooting downs Southeast Raleigh boys basketball

CARY - Green Hope coach John Green wanted to give John Mosser a good look in the game’s first possession, hoping a quick bucket would give some early-season confidence to his senior.

Instead, the ball went to David Robertson, who swished a 3-pointer. It didn’t hurt Mosser – he finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds.

That’s about how the night went for Green Hope.

Even when things didn’t go how they were drawn up, they still went well. The Falcons went on a scoring binge in its 75-52 win against visiting Southeast Raleigh on Tuesday.

“We’ve got guys who can play college basketball and want to score,” Green said.

“If we can get them to all buy in as a team, and then they come out and play like they did tonight, it’s going to be a good year.”

Sharing the ball was no problem for the Falcons (1-0), and neither was chemistry.
