On Wednesday night, Apex (10-4-1, 8-2-1) extended its road winning streak to four with a 3-0 win over host Athens Drive (7-7-3, 3-7-1). The Cougars started the season just 3-3-1 on the road, but the turnaround is a big reason why they’re still second in the Tri-9 Conference. “At this point in the season, you want consistency,” Apex coach Kevin Todd said. “As we’re winding down, you want to have some momentum heading into the playoffs. ![]() Right now we have a good chance of making the playoffs, but you never want to just stumble in there.” As for the home team, finding consistency has been a struggle lately.
