CARY -- Cary Green Hope made it two wins in a row over the Sanderson Friday night with a 29-13 non-conference football win.
The Falcons only loss this year was to tough Leesville Road, but Green Hope coach Kwame Dixon said the defeat was a turning point for his defense, which shut out Sanderson in the second half.
"We have a senior group of kids that finally came together in the second half of that game (Leesville)," Dixon said. "Something just clicked for them and we can see the difference."
Junior quarterback Chris Tutwiler, who completed 13 of 26 passes for 193 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, said he knows why the Falcons (2-1) have been successful so far.
"We definitely have a better attitude this year," he said. "The effort is there, we work well together and we are working a lot harder."
