And while on the subject of dark horses, why not his red-and-black Mustangs? Middle Creek is unbeaten in three games (2-0-1), outscoring opponents 15-1. Wednesday’s game at Clayton was a 0-0 draw hard to accept for either side. There were 32 combined shots and 16 combined corner kicks, including a final one that was almost scored by Middle Creek goalkeeper Connor Talbot with 25 seconds left.
