Clayton, Middle Creek soccer play to a draw

September 1, 2012
Tri-Nine Conference

CLAYTON - Middle Creek boys’ soccer coach Eddie Wasdell says there is a likely opportunity for a dark horse to shake up the Tri-Nine Conference.

And while on the subject of dark horses, why not his red-and-black Mustangs?

Middle Creek is unbeaten in three games (2-0-1), outscoring opponents 15-1.

Wednesday’s game at Clayton was a 0-0 draw hard to accept for either side. There were 32 combined shots and 16 combined corner kicks, including a final one that was almost scored by Middle Creek goalkeeper Connor Talbot with 25 seconds left.

But conference play arrives Monday, and missed opportunities will sting a little more.
