Lightning strikes yield Leesville success

Panther Creek jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second quarter on a 2-yard TD run by David Mayaka with 6:51 left in the first half. Then the lightning delay came and afterwards it was the Evan Parker and Braxton Berrios show for Leesville Road.

The Pride took control of the game on a bobbled pass that Malcolm Hitchcock snagged laying on his back at the 1-yard line. Parker finished off the drive with a 1-yard plunge for the score to tie the game at 7 with 6.5 seconds remaining in the first half.

The Pride took their first possession right down the field, using Braxton Berrios in the wildcat prominently. Berrios cashed in on a sweep play from 12-yards out to put the Pride ahead 13-7 with just under 8 minutes to go in the third quarter.
