For Fuquay-Varina’s softball team, its first-round opponent had decent pitching -– but suspect fielding. The Bengals only got four hits, but by continuing to put the ball in play, it placed more pressure on the Riverside fielders than they could handle. Fuquay walked away with a 11-2 road victory on Friday night, as Riverside had eight errors. Catcher Alyssa White’s two-RBI double and Rachel Honrine’s infield single were the only two base hits that scored runs. Four errors came on scoring plays, as did three wild pitches.
