Tri-Nine girls soccer teams hope to heal, regroup

April 3, 2012
Tri-Nine Conference

As Tri-Nine Conference girls soccer teams get set for a break in the action, eight of the league’s nine teams are hoping a week off for spring break allows them to heal enough to make a strong charge up the standings.

The exception would be the team that can’t climb any higher. Green Hope, now ranked No. 1 in the nation by ESPN Rise, remains unbeaten and untied. Only Apex has been able to stay within a goal of the Falcons thus far.

“We were disappointed in ourselves last year” after losing in the third round of playoffs, said Green Hope junior Alexis Degler. “It puts a bigger target on your back and makes you work that much harder.”
