Anoka extends wins streak to 14 versus Centennial. May 15, 2014.

Centennial hosted Anoka on cool Thursday night in Circle Pines. Dayja Rosario got the ball rolling for Anoka with a leadoff single. Monica Sjodin smacked a one out double. With two runners in scoring position, Megan Lindenfelser hit a single scoring both runners. Laura King hit a single in the second but neither team scored in the frame. Makayla Zimmer started the third reaching base on an error and Monica Sjodin hit into a fielder’s choice. Megan followed with a one out triple scoring Monica. Morgan Paaverud drove Megan in with a double. LeeAnna Nevin reached base on an error while also scoring Morgan on the play. Alyssa Wicks hit a single to bring LeeAnna home for a 6-0 Anoka lead. After Amber Elliott made a great defensive play turning a double play from the mound to close out the third, Anoka scored one more in the fourth. Dayja hit another single and scored on an error when the third baseman couldn’t handle a shot by Megan. Centennial did not score in the bottom on the fourth nor did Anoka in the top of the fifth although Laura King hit another single. In the bottom of the fifth, Centennial hit a one out single followed by a fielder’s choice. With two outs, they strung together two singles and a double to score two runs. There was not further scoring in the sixth and seventh for a final score of 7-2.
