Anoka shuts out Osseo at Central park in Ramsey. May 2, 2014.
May 6, 2014By Anoka Softball of Anoka Fast Pitch Softball
It was a beautiful Friday evening for a ball game at Central Park in Ramsey. With temperatures in the 50s, the wind calm and skies clearing after days of rain, it was a treat to have such beautiful conditions. Osseo started the first with a leadoff single and was able to advance a runner to third but was unable to score. Osseo did not mount a threat again until the sixth and seventh innings but both times Anoka came up with timely strikeouts to preserve the shutout. As for Anoka’s offense, they picked up one run in the second with three consecutive singles by Morgan Paaverud, Monica Sjodin and Amber Elliott. In the third, Dayja Rosario led off with a single. With one out, Taylor Chell blasted a homerun. Next up was Megan Lindenfelser who laced a single. Morgan Paaverud drove Megan in with a double and Amber Elliott drove her in with a single. Anoka was held scoreless in the fourth although Makayla Zimmer hit a nice double. In the fifth inning Monica Sjodin hit one out making the score 6-0. Amber Elliott follow with a single but that would be it for Anoka’s offense.
Megan Lindenfelser pitched the distance scattering four hits over 7 innings while striking out nine.
