Each Anoka hitter collected at least one hit in the bottom of the first. In the top of the second, Anoka’s pitching and defense followed their offensive explosion by shutting down Centennial allowing no hits or base runners. In the bottom of the second, the onslaught continued with Anoka generating 6 more runs off 5 hits and two walks including another grand slam this time by freshman Amber Elliot. In the top of the third, it was all defense again for Anoka with no runs and no hits. In the bottom of the third, Anoka scored 3 more runs with another home run by Amber Elliot. Anoka’s defense continued to roll in the fourth with a 1, 2, 3 inning. Anoka added a fifth home run in the bottom of the fourth with Anoka’s leadoff hitter and senior catcher, Dayja Rosario hitting a hard line drive out of the park. Anoka added a total of four runs and as many hits in the inning. With Centennial needing a big inning to prolong the game, Anoka closed out the night retiring the side in order for a 25-4 victory.
