Division II, Region 6

Toledo Rogers (9-1) vs. Maple Heights (8-2) - Friday (7:30pm)

Toledo Rogers trots into the Division II State playoffs riding a six game winning streak finishing with a 9-1 record. After losing their only game to Whitmer in week four (40-23), the Rams have battled their way through the easier tier of Toledo City League opponents to earn the third seed in the playoffs.

Having outscored their opponents 419 to 140, Rogers is not just the beneficiary of an easier TCL schedule. The Rams earned impressive wins over 7-3 Anthony Wayne in week one and 7-3 Sylvania Southview in week three.

Leading the charge for the Rams has been E J Tucker (quarterback). Tucker was the City League's top rusher, amassing over 1,000 yards and scored over 20 touchdowns. Through the air, Tucker also threw for over 1,000 yards while completing over 50% of his passes.

Damond Powell grabbed over 340 yards receiving over the season as one of Tucker's favorite receivers.

The 8-2 Mustangs of Maple Heights enter the post-season coming off losses in two of their last three games before posting a 33-6 win in week 10 over the 1-9 Shaker Heights club.

Maple Heights has been led by quarterback Shaq Washington and running back DeVonte Ransom.

During the season, the Mustangs' offense was able to put up points, including two games over 45 points. Maple Heights has scored a total of 315 points in nine games, as they were declared the winner in a forfeit game over Cleveland Heights in the sixth week of the season.
