The Titans came into their first district match knowing that they needed a big victory to start off the second season.
“All the games we play up to this point do nothing but get us ready for the six regular season games that determine whether or not we get to play in the post season.” said Coach Winship. “Our guys know that from the beginning of the season.”
The Titans started off right when junior midfielder David Patton scored his first game winning shot of his career. A few minutes later sophomore midfielder Somto Ngwudike added his first goal of the year.
In the second half, the Titans would break the game open with scores from senior forward Caylon McCulloch and 8th grade forward Mohammed Ibrahim.
Senior keeper Jesus Renk would post his first career shutout by making one save and directing his defense throughout the match.
The backline led by seniors Tucker Italiano and Matthew Horton and juniors Andrew Herrin, Sean Callahan and Rob Martin continually held the Provine offense in check.
The Titans move to 6-3-4 on the season, 1-0 in division play.
