The BIG Event

April 7, 2011
By Zach Sellers of Timberview Middle School

We have finally received our project for the Big Event.  Thank you to those student athletes who are participating on Saturday.  We will be doing a little manual labor around Timberview Middle School, as well as the Early Learning Center (the building in front of our school).  This is not only a good project for to promote hard work, team-work, and school pride, it is also at a convenient location.

Coach Wiethorn will be checking in our student volunteers at the stadium that morning.  Students are encouraged to be present for the "official sendoff"  but it is not mandatory if you prefer not to make the extra trip over.  Please remember that parents are responsible for transportation, and sponsors will not be able to transport students during the Big Event.  If students prefer to just come to the service project, we will meet at the front entrance of Timberview at 8:30 to get started.  Any students showing up late can just jump in and join in the fun when they arrive.  Parents are also welcome to take pictures of their child while they pull up their sleeves... and please share so we can post on our athletic website.

After we are done with the project for the day, students are welcome to attend the Big Event Bash which is located back at Keller ISD stadium starting around noon.  Again, parents are responsible for transportation to and from the stadium.  Thank you to our awesome volunteers, and if any students still want to sign up, they can bring the consent form to the coaches on Friday, and we will get it turned in.
