This past weekend in Seattle, not only did we have one Driving Diva in the winners circle, but we had TWO! Both Courtney Force and Erica Enders made it in, which is the first time the NHRA have had two women take the top spots on the same weekend in HISTORY. Here at the Thunder Road Show, we have been honored to have interviewed both of these ambasadors to the racing community on several occasions and both have a special place in our history as well. Obviously, Courtney is part of racing royalty being not only a driver for John Force Racing, but is also the daughter of the legendary John Force. She has gone out there the past few seasons and proven that she is a very capable driver in her own right, following in her big sisters footsteps (Ashley Force-Hood whom is also a member of our Driving Diva Club) into the Funny Car ranks. This season, Courtney has made it into the finals and this past weekend was able to step into Funny Car history and taking the top honors by dispatching Cruz Pedregon, John Force (car owner/father) and defending World Champ Matt Hagan. That is no small feat for a rookie driver and is sure to have her in the hunt for Rookie of the Year for sure. Erica Enders, what can we say about this young lady? We can say that she is on fire! We can also say that she has locked in a place in the Countdown to the Championship. We can also say that she and her team have made history not once, but twice in the same season. First came with her victory over Greg Anderson in Chicago and the second was getting her second win in Seattle along with her good friend Courtney Force. As stated, the NHRA had never had two women win in the top pro ranks on the same weekend. Erica has been a great friend of the show and it's always exciting watching her turn laps in person or on TV. In addition, Erica recently got engaged after her win in Chicago to another friend of the show, Mr. Richie Stevens. Richie is a heck of a guy and one lucky man to have landed such a great lady. Richie is a great driver in his own right and is currently racing in the ADRL championing a Ford Mustang sponsored by CarSafe which is also a title sponsor in the ADRL. Erica has expereinced many highs and lows in her storied carrer and with the two wins this season, cemented herself as one of the best drivers in Pro Stock. With the backing of GK Motorsports and the powerful engines and tuning from Cagnazzi Racing, Erica has been able to lay down some great times. This past weekend, Erica not only took out her favorite opponent in Greg Anderson, but she was also able to take out Jason Line in the finals, knocking out both Summit Racing cars. Tommy Ut and Dave Connely are both tuning Erica's car this season and both should be very proud of what they have been able to accomplish this year. We at the Thunder Road Show could not be any prouder of these two ladies and happy to call them both "friends of the show"
