Lady Apache Golf Wins Wabash County

With the cold, damp weather lingering on a day that was suppose to be sunny and 78*, the action on the golf course was hotter than the breeze in the air at Etna Acres Golf Course Saturday as all four county girls golf squads competed for the county title.

The Wabash Lady Apaches, led by medalist Katie Smith held off a youthful Southwood squad to defeat the Lady Knights by three strokes 374-377. Manchester placed third with a score of 410 and Northfield fourth with 515.

Wabash senior Katie Smith won the individual title, firing a 78, which was just four strokes better than 2010 county champ Lindsey Budnik(82) of Manchester. Jordan Rauh of Wabash finished third with an 87.
