Northfield Routes Valley

The Northfield baseball team rebounded from their loss to Caston with a 19-1 route of Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday.

Northfield pounded out 12 hits while playing error free ball, backing Ryan Keaffaber on both sides of the diamond.

Keaffaber was one inning away from another no hitter when the Vikings singled three times and scored a run.

N(B1):  Joseph Ross 2 out 2 rbi double off fence in center (2-0).

N(B2):  Ryan Keaffaber 2 out 3 rbi double to left center (5-0).

N(B4):  Big hit was Ryan Keaffaber’s grand slam to left center (15-0).

T(T5):  Mason Teel 2 out rbi single (19-1).

Uggen:  “We expected this to be a much different game than it was but we’ll take it.  I have been talking about how we really need to come out get Ryan (Keaffaber) some run support and we did that very well. .  I was also pleased that we hit the ball with 2 outs much better than we have in a while. ”
