Home » General NewsCold vs. FluDecember 17, 2012 Thomas Nelson HSAs you all may know, we are in the middle of cold and flu season and as a service to the people of the TNHS community and otherwise, we are providing information on the cold and flu sicknesses for your safety and own good. Both of these sicknesses are similar and may be confused with one another but it is imperative that you know how to tell them apart so you can seek out the proper treatment. For example with the cold, headaches and general pain are rare or very slight but with the flu they are prominent and often severe as well with fever in the cold, fevers are rare however with the flu these are high and can last three to four days. Most other symptoms between the two are alike but it is important that if you suspect the flu that you seek medical help from a doctor to see if it is because the flu can lead to; if untreated, bronchitis and pneumonia which can be life threatening. If you have any cold or flu like symptoms you need to see your doctor immediately because it may be more serious than you think. ~The antiviral drugs DO NOT CURE the flu. If taken during the first 24-48 hours they may help reduce the length of the flu symptoms.
