Home » General NewsPenny WarDecember 12, 2012 By Abigail Wathen of Thomas Nelson HSOur school came together to help local families have a great Christmas. We gathered a total of 705.78 dollars to donate to in need families. Our goal was to have each student donate a dollar, but we overachieved, and our average became one dollar and twenty two cents per student. When the war came to an end, Lincoln House held their flag high with about fifty-nine cents per student; however, once the bombs were counted, their number decreased to thirteen cents per student. Coming in second, the Layfayette House was heavily bombed, making their average about negative four cents per student. Although, before they were bombed, each student was estimated to have donated fifty-three cents. Finally, Hamilton House came in third with thirty-eight cents per students. Although, they were struck down and bombed persistantly. They ended with negative thirty-three cents per student. Thank you for donating, Merry Christmas!
