December 10, 2012
By Shelby Enlow of Thomas Nelson HS

Materials

  • Medium to large pinecone
  • Small red pompom
  • Two googly craft eyes
  • Brown paper
  • Two thin twig pieces that are 2 to 4 inches long (need to be same length)
  • Fine red glitter
  • Hot glue gun
  • 1/8 inch red ribbon 4 to 6 inches long

Instructions

  1. Cover the surface of the two twigs with glue (to be used for antlers)
  2. Sprinkle the fine red glitter over the glue covered twigs and set aside
  3. Glue the eyes about 2/3 of the way down the pinecone if it was standing up with the tip down
  4. Glue the red pompom onto the lower tip of the pinecone
  5. Cut two small triangles from the brown paper for the ears
  6. Use the hot glue gun to glue the twig antler pieces to either side of the top of the pinecone
  7. Glue one ear over each antler against the head
  8. Fold the piece of ribbon in half and tie the ends in a knot to create the hanging hook
  9. Hot-glue the uncut end to the open middle area of the pinecone between the two antlers
  10. Wait 30 seconds
  11. Hang on your Christmas Tree and enjoy
