Home » General NewsGet Ready For A Great Time! :)December 5, 2012 By Ashley Cornelius of Thomas Nelson HSLooking for a good time or just another reason to join FFA? FFA sponsor, Mr. John Hammond’s got you covered! He is having a SAE field trip to Quinton Roby’s farm after school on December 18th. SAE stands for “Supervised Agricultural Experience” and students with an SAE learn by doing. SAE has four categories: Entrepreneurship (where you can own and operate an agricultural business), Placement (get a job or internship on a farm or ranch, at an agriculture-based business, or in a school or factory laboratory), Research and Experimentation (plan and conduct a scientific experiment), and Exploratory (explore careers in agriculture by attending an agriculture career fair, or creating a report or documentary on the work of a veterinarian). This is what Mr. Hammond’s trip is about. He wants his FFA members to explore all of these things on Mr. Roby’s farm. They will be back at 5:30 just in time for the girls’ home basketball game as they play against Bardstown at 6. If you want more information on this trip, please see Mr. Hammond in his room H010 right outside the Hamilton house. If you want to sign up to go to this free trip, there is a signup sheet in his room on the door as soon as you walk inside. Mr. Hammond says this is going to be a fun trip for everyone! GO FFA GENERALS (:
