Penny Wars Rules BASIC RULES ? Penny Wars 2010 is from December 2, 2010 to December 10, 2010. Money can be put into the jars during normal reception desk hours only (10am to 10pm) with the assistance of a desk receptionist. ? Pennies count as positive points. All other money (nickels, dimes, quarters, bills, checks, etc.) count as negative points equal to the cent value of the currency. For example, a nickel is equal to negative 5 points; a dollar bill is equal to negative 100 points. ? All checks or money orders should be made out to The Inter-Residence Hall Council. ? No foreign currency will be counted. ? Total score for each house is determined by the cumulative point value divided by the number of residents that live in that house for the final rankings. The number of residents per house is provided by Housing and shall not change during Penny Wars. All of the money collected for Penny Wars goes to charity. The Inter-Residence Hall Council pays for all other costs out of the IRHC budget, including advertising and prizes. For more information or to find the latest Penny Wars standings. SPECIAL RULES ? Any tampering with the jars or the money within will count as an immediate disqualification of the offending house. In addition, the house may be disqualified from future IRHC events as IRHC sees fit. ? All money submitted per day must fit within the jar. No outside submissions will be accepted. ? Jars will be emptied starting around 9:30pm by IRHC members. Once a jar is emptied, no submissions will be accepted until the desk opens the next day. ? The collection cut-off time will be 10pm on the final day, Friday, Decemember 10
