Home » General NewsVeteran's DayNovember 14, 2012 By Shyla Stump of Thomas Nelson HSThis past Sunday, Veteran’s Day passed. It was a day to remember and pay tribute to who we lost and to also honor those who still stand. A holiday to pay respects to every person that risked their lives to protect ours. They cared enough about our country to protect our freedom so that we will have it for years to come. So it is only right that we respect them for years to come. Thomas Nelson High School hasn’t forgotten this holiday and I hope that you haven’t either. Last Thursday, this school celebrated and honored our veterans in a ceremony put together by our school’s very own ROTC. There was a speech from Mr. Mudd and by one TNHS student about the Hometown Heroes project. The Hometown Heroes project is a project to interview a veteran in your community about their experience in the military. This would be a great opportunity to get to know a local veteran and learn about how the experience went for them. Get involved today!
