Well the scarecrow jubilee is a fun filled event held by Bernheim forest each year since 2007. Why do they have it? To try and help people use their imaginations, have fun, and connect with nature. What do you do in the scarecrow jubilee? What you do in the scarecrow jubilee is create a scarecrow but they are not your ordinary everyday scarecrows just sitting out in a field somewhere, these scarecrows are suppose to be creative and unique in their own way whether they make their viewers want to laugh, scream, drop their jaw in amazement, or tilt their head in confusion. All scarecrows on display are eligible to come in first place in one of these four categories most original, best relation to theme, funniest, and people’s choice award. Anyone can enter a scarecrow. Artists and just regular everyday people can join in on all the fun. Groups such as scout troops, schools, volunteers, businesses are all welcomed to enter this event and usually do. In order to participate in this event you have to sign up or register. You can do this by getting an entry form online at http://www.bernheim.org/ or by going to Bernheim forest itself and getting one. The scarecrows in order to be put on display must meet guidelines and regulations which will be included on the entry forms. Scarecrows will be left up until mid November for everyone’s enjoyment. So if you didn’t get to enter a scarecrow this year, you can still go see other people’s scarecrows and maybe get some ideas. That way you can enter next year!
