Home » Girls' Softball NewsMAPLES DROP PAIR TO SALINEApril 28, 2010 Adrian High SchoolAdrian at Saline: The Maples suffered 3-2 and 5-1 losses to Saline in a Southeastern Conference doubleheader. "We were not aggressive offensively," Adrian coach Jenny Carlson said. "And that cost us in the end." Adrian started out Game 1 with the lead, but Saline rallied to the 3-2 victory. The Maples had four hits in the game as Drew Bailey had a double and Tayla Espinoza, Courtney Sanderson and Sydney Stiverson each had a single. Kelly Butler had six strikeouts while suffering the pitching loss. In Game 2, Adrian lost 5-1 as Karissa DeVore took the loss with four strikeouts. The Maples (8-5, 2-4 SEC) improved on offense by putting more balls in play but were only able to get two hits through Saline's defense.
