Columbia State Fall In Title Game!

The Columbia State Chargers, TCCAA Region VII tournament champion,  came up short Sunday afternoon as the South Georgia Tigers from Region 17 beat CSCC 7-3 to capture the 2011 NJCAA East Central District Title sending them to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The Chargers had just an hour earlier beat # 7 Walters State 4-3 on a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth by Mark Rayburn scoring Nick Howell giving Columbia State the opportunity to play South Georgia.  The Tigers finished the tournament unbeaten, the Chargers (35-16) finished 2-2.

TSN wants to congratulate the Chargers who completed the season 4th in the TCCAA, finishing first in the conference tournament in Gallatin by beating Chattanooga State 9-8 in ten-innings.

Head Coach Mike Corn, in his second year,  has this team back on the map winning CSCC's 15th TCCAA Championship this season. Coach Corn has alot of great player returing next season and the has signed several area kids that will help his run in 2012.
