#7 Columbia State Chargers 2 Wins Away From NJCAA World Series!

The Columbia State Chargers left-hander Scooter Hightower went the distance in CSCC’s opening game in the NJCAA East-Central tournament Friday earning a 5-2 win over Darton College.

Hightower gave up two runs in the first inning, but settled down and ended the game allowing only five hits. At one point he retired 24 straight batters.

CSCC got on the board in the 7th inning plating five. With one down, Riley Delgado walks, and scored when Tyler Fullerton smashes a triple. Ronnie Jebavy’s infield hit tied the score. With two outs Desi Ammons walks. Austin Atwell breaks the game open with a two-run triple and later scores on a hit by Josh Wilson.

Fullerton was 3-5 with a single, double and triple. Ronnie Jebavy was a perfect 3 for 3.

Columbia State will now enter into the winners bracket final Saturday at 11AM against the winner of today’s second game between Motlow State and Georgia Perimeter.
