Austin Peay Headed to NCAA Baseball Tournament!

Austin Peay's baseball squad is headed back to the NCAA National Baseball Tournament. The Govs got the word Monday like everyone else on where they'll open play and the Eugene, Oregon site is the destanation for the OVC champions.

Austin Peay (38-22) earned the Ohio Valley Conference's automatic bid, becoming the first team to lose its first game in the tournament and coming back to win the championship. The Govs also won a share of the OVC regular-season title with a 19-7 league mark.

Oregon (42-17, 19-11 Pac-12) finished third in the Pac-12 Conference regular-season race. The Ducks – ranked 10th in Monday's Collegiate Baseball poll.

Friday, June 1 Game 1: Austin Peay vs. Oregon, 8 p.m. (CT) Game 2: Indiana State vs. Cal State Fullerton, 4 p.m. (CT)

The Vanderbilt Commodores will open NCAA Tournament play in the Raleigh Regional against Colonial Athletic Conference champ UNC-Wilmington.

The No. 2 seed Commodores (33-26) and No. 3 seed Seahawks (38-21) open the Regional at 1 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon on the campus of host North Carolina State. The top-seeded Wolfpack (39-17) play Sacred Heart (25-30) Friday night at 6 p.m. CT.

The Belmont baseball team (39-22) is heading back to the NCAA Tournament, and on Monday the Bruins received word that they will be competing in the Baton Rouge bracket hosted by LSU (43-16).  Belmont, the three seed in the four-team region, will play Oregon State (38-18) in the first game of the tournament on Friday at 2:00 p.m. CT.
