Spring Hill Headed To The Big Dance!

By Greg Bradley of TennesseeSportsNetThe Spring Hill Raiders (30-1) won their 30th consecutive game Monday night 71-55 over David Lipscomb (19-11) in sub-state play at Spring Hill High School. With the win the Raiders earn a berth in the 2012 TSSAA State Tournament at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro March 14-17. It’ll be their first since 1999.
In Monday’s action Spring Hill trailed early but managed to pull ahead with the help of seniors Keilan Blanks, Dathan Prewett and Montre Williams and junior Tony Sparkman . The Raiders kept a five to eight point lead throughout the second quarter and led at the break 28-23.
The two teams traded baskets in the third quarter with Spring Hill getting one more trey than Lipscomb and the Raiders led after three 46-38. Montre Williams was showing signs of taking over the game. His three-point shooting begin to heat up and the Spring Hill faithful were starting to see Murfreesboro in their sites.
Montre Williams led the Raiders for a game high 26-points as Spring Hill outscored David Lipscomb in the final 8:00 25 to 17 to book their trip to the “Big Dance” in about two weeks.
Keilan Blanks finished with 17 points for the Raiders.

The Spring Hill Raiders will open tournament play on Wednesday March 14 at MTSU's Murphy Center.
