MUNCIE, Ind. – Centerville improved to 11-1 on the season on Saturday by winning the Muncie South Invitational.

The Bulldogs defeated Frankton and Hagerstown before stopping Muncie Burris 4-1 to win the tournament.

Brittany Jones went 3-0 at No. 1 singles for Centerville, with Shelby Minhinnett also finishing 3-0 at No. 2. Lexi Stamper was 2-1 at No. 3.

Hagerstown also fell to Frankton.

Centerville girls tennis team rose to 11-1 today and won the Muncie Southside High School Girls Tennis Invitational. Centerville defeated Frankton and Hagerstown, and then defeated Muncie Burris in the finals 4-1.

Centerville travels to Northeastern Tuesday in a battle of Tri-Eastern Conference unbeatens.

Both teams are 6-0 in TEC play and the winnter of Tuesday’s match will clinch a share of the TEC title with the TEC tournament deciding the overall winner.

Northeastern (12-1, 6-0) and Centerville (11-1, 6-0) have shared the overall title two straight years.

Centerville results

SINGLES- 1. Jones 3-0; 2. Minhinnett 3-0; 3. Stamper 2-1.

DOUBLES- 1. Ross and VanWinkle 0-3; 2. Good and Walther 1-2.

Hagerstown results

SINGLES- 1. Hollenberg 0-2; 2. S.Houck 0-2; 3. Young 0-2.

DOUBLES- 1. Dale and Brown 1-1; 2. O.Houck and Fleming 1-1.
