UNION CITY, Ind. – Centerville earned its first Tri-Eastern Conference victory of the season Thursday, defeating Union City 16-1 in five innings.

Sam Shaw hit a home run for the Bulldogs (6-6, 1-1), Tyler Weaver tripled and Andrew Walter doubled, while Matt Stamper and Eli Callahan each had two hits.

“It’s nice to get one under our belt. We’re looking forward to playing a couple more games on Saturday,” Centerville coach Tracey Crull said.

Shaw had four RBIs, while Stamper and Jack Willis each had three. Justyn North struck out seven to earn the victory on the mound.

The Bulldogs host Franklin County Saturday for a doubleheader.
