No. 3 singles player Adam Spencer knows the season is young and sees yet more room to improve, though. But, he said, the strong start does help carry momentum as the season goes on. On Thursday, the Bulldogs started strong, ended strong, and played very well in between, handing Franklin County its first loss of the season with a 5-0 sweep. The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 in dual matches while the Wildcats fell to 2-1. “It’s amazing, it pumps us up,” Spencer said of the 3-0 start to the season. “We always believe in ourselves and that makes us do so much better, and I think that’s what this team really needs and I’m hoping that we end strong also.” Early success — as well as defeat — also gives teams an opportunity to see where to improve, which Bulldogs coach Randy Ecker said he saw in Thursday’s victory. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120823/HSSPORTS/308230019/Strong-start-continues
