Led by the one-two combo of Ryleigh Waltz and Maureen Miller, the Patriots earned a decisive win in the second Union County Girls Golf Invitational, besting players from six other schools at the Liberty Country Club. Defending champion Richmond was a distant second, while Centerville also competed, but not as a team. Only three Bulldogs were able to complete the 18 holes on a sun-drenched course. Waltz shot 80 to earn medalist honors, with Miller right behind the senior with 81. Senior Erin Ingram of Richmond shot 82 for the third-best round of the day, while Centerville senior Sierra Lesh and Erin Bundy of Knightstown both recorded 84 to finish in the top five. For UC coach Tony Gulley, it was another good result, three in three days, as the Pats added to invitational wins at Richmond (Monday) and New Castle (Tuesday) to start the season. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120801/HSSPORTS/308010014/Patriots-go-3-3
