INDIANA CROSSROADS CONFERENCE

To Whom It May Concern:
Triton Central High School will host the 5th Annual “Pink-Out” Game on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 against the Covenant Christian Warriors. The “Pink-Out” Game supports the Sharon L. Bassett Foundation. Come out and Join the Fight against Breast Cancer.
The Sharon L. Bassett Foundation assists families in Indiana and Vermillion County Illinois that are living with breast cancer. The Foundation began as a small fund in 2001 to honor an amazing woman who, while battling breast cancer herself, stopped at nothing to help others as they also lived with breast cancer. In early 2008, the SLB Fund became the Sharon L. Bassett Foundation. Sharonpassed away in June 2006, but her legacy lives on through the foundation.
The idea for a “Pink-Out” game began in 2008 when Coach Bryan Graham and then senior player Kelsey Larkey were searching for new uniforms. While looking through a catalog, they came across pink uniforms and thought a game to benefit Breast Cancer Research/Survivors would be an excellent idea. Kelsey’s mother, Connie – a lifetime resident of the Triton Central area – had just experienced her second battle with the disease, and Coach Graham’s grandmother was a survivor as well. They contacted businesses to pay for the uniforms, and asked Connie to help organize the event. Over $32,000 has been raised from the “Pink-Out” games over the last four years. Our goal for this year’s event is to raise $12,000!
During the evening, area breast cancer survivors will be honored. Women in theShelbyCountyarea have benefited from the SLB foundation. There will be many opportunities to financially support the foundation throughout the evening including a dinner, silent auction and bake sale. These funds will assist women that have been diagnosed with breast cancer either with utility bills, groceries, prescriptions, wigs or whatever the need may be.
