Tiger Tennis Report

August 24, 2012
By Doug Seagrave of Triton Central High School

The Triton Central Tiger tennis team defeated county rival Southwetern on Thursday 4-1.  Coach Eric Ellis and the boys are now 2-1 on the season.

#1 Singles Jacob Robison won 1-6, 6-1, 6-2

#2 Singles Hank McKnight was defeated 0-6, 4-6

#3 Singles Caleb Steele won 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4

#1 Doubles team of David Williamson and Cody Holland won 6-2, 6-4

#2 Doubles team of Joe Renton and Atticus Felling won 3-6, 6-1, 6-1

A big win for the netters.  Southwestern won the first set in four of the five varsity matches.  However, the Tiger players showed heart by coming back from those deficits to win three of the four matches.

The tennis team is back in action Saturday morning as they host the Tiger Invitational beginning at 9:00.  Knightstown, Greenfield-Central, and Morristown are competing.
