Twin Lakes Hands Cavaliers First Loss Of The Season

January 11, 2014
Tri-County Jr.-Sr. High School

The Cavaliers took charge of the contest in the first half taking a 6 point lead into the intermission.  Twin lakes came out in the third quarter and tried to assert more defensive pressure on the Cavaliers which resulted in a very physical quarter of play.  The Cavaliers did not respond and seemed to be put back on their heels by this but still held on to a 3 pt lead at the end of the third quarter.  The fourth quarter became haphazzard as very few fouls were called and the Indians moved out to a 6 pts lead late in the fourth quarter.  The Cavaliers tried to counter with some full court pressure, but could not matchup with the Indians superior speed.  Forced into a fouling strategy in the fianl minutes the Cavs fell further behind and were defeated 49-39.

Dane Haardebeck led the Cavs with 14 pts.  Kyle Miller chipped in 10 pts.  The story of the night was the Indians containing the Cavs leading scorer Zack Patton, holding him to 7 points.

The Cavaliers travel to Rensselaer tonight.  The JV start time is 7:00 pm EST
