Sycamore heads to Chicago; Kaneland top draw in 5A playoffs

When the complete list of 256 playoff football teams was released Saturday afternoon, Sycamore coach Joe Ryan sat down and mapped out how he thought the Class 5A bracket would look.
When the pairings were revealed Saturday night, Ryan proudly said he picked a perfect lower bracket, where the 6-3 Spartans are the No. 12 seed and will travel to face the No. 5 seed Chicago King (8-1) in the first round of the playoffs.
"Once the 256 teams come out, you can kind of get a pretty good idea," Ryan said.
