7th Grade Girls pick up win over Trojans

South Warren 30  Barren County 20 (7th)

The South Warren Lady Spartans picked up a 30-20 win over the host Trojans with a tell of two halves. The first half saw an intense Spartan defense that shut down the Trojans and allowed them to take a 12-5 lead into the locker room The 2nd half saw the offenses pick up and the Spartans were sparked by Sara Ortiz, who had a double-double with a game high 15 points (11 in the 2nd half) and 12 steals.  Alexis Daniel added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the game for the Lady Spartans. The win moved the Lady Spartans to 8 - 4 on the season and they will return to action on Thursday, Dec 8th at home against Moss Middle School. Game time is 5:30 p.m

South Warren 33  Barren County 45 (8th)

South Warren fell behind early to the host Lady Trojans and trailed 15-7 after the first quarter. Barren County connected on 7 of 8 free throws in the period and the Spartans were never able to recover from the early deficit as Barren went on to 45-33 victory. Timitryi Patterson paced the Lady Spartans with a game high 18 points and 9 rebounds. Barren County was led by Kennedy Logsdon and Madison Hume, who scored 15 and 14 points, respectively.  South Warren dropped to 6 - 5 on the season and hopes to get back to winning when it faces Moss Middle School on Thur. Dec 8.
