South Warren 42 Monroe County 49 (Semifinals)
South Warren came into the semifinals playing its third game in just 8 hours. Coach Reed admitted he felt his team was playing on a little bit of "dead legs" by this game. He said they did not have the same energy level that they had used in the first two games of the tournament. The Spartans battled throughout and led 11-10 after the first period before going into the break down 20-16. The 2nd half was a battle back and forth and the Spartans could not get any closer than four points and excellent free shooting down the stretch helped give the Falcons the victory 49-42. Monroe County hit 12-14 free throws in the 2nd half, compared to the Spartans 6-11. The loss eliminated the Spartans from the tourney but Coach Reed said he was very pleased with his team's effort and performance.
