The South Warren Middle School girls soccer team pulled out an exciting win 2-1 over BGCA on Monday night at Three Springs Park. After Laura Hasani scored in the first minute of the game, the Spartans relied on their defense the rest of the half as they took a 1-0 lead into intermission. The game remained 1-0 until the Warriors scored late in regulation to tie the game at 1-1 and send into sudden death penalty kicks. Each team would get 5 shots on goal and the Spartans took a 3-2 edge after goals by Kinsey Nelson, Malinda Leary, and Andrea Keoshian. Spartan goalie Avery Peerce stopped the last Warrior attempt to give the Spartans a great 2-1 victory. This moved the Spartans to 1-1-1 on the season for the middle school team. Congratulations to these awesome girls for their outstanding work and committment to South Warren Middle School.
