South Warren Middle School STLP was represented by over 40 students at the WKU Fall Showcase at Diddle Arena on Thursday, December 6th. State STLP coordinator Elaine Harrison got the showcase kicked off yesterday for a packed house of schools at all grade levels.
South Warren was proud to take 4 showcases to this year's event. Several Spartans were there to try to also try to be a part of many service categories that the Ky STLP offers (Cyber Shorts, Live Reporting, Twitter, Production Crew). The other members of the Spartans STLP were doing various technology tasks at the event.
Bryan Priddy, coordinator of the SWMS STLP, was very pleased with the positive attitudes and enthusiasm that SWMS continues to show. "We are happy to just get to be a part of a great event like this. Our students get the chance to see what other schools are doing and meet a lot of great people along the way. I am very proud of the way our students always approach these events."
The students participating yesterday at the showcase are hoping to advance to the State Competition in March 2013 in Lexington, Ky. "These students are a success to me by simply taking the time and effort to represent SWMS with pride".
South Warren advanced all four of their showcases to state and also had the only middle school student from Warren County to advance in service category. Jonah Smith advanced to work on the Production Crew at State.
