The Spartans came out ice cold Thursday night @ Warren East and fell behind in a hole that it could not recover from. South Warren only was able to manage one field goal by Ryder Litten in the first quarter and trailed 15- 3 by the end of the period. Cody Stoll lit up the Spartans for 11 points in the opening period. The Spartans were not able to find an answer all night to stop Stoll as he finished with a game high 20 points and the host Raiders pulled away for a 48 - 32 victory. Litten led the Spartans with 16 points. The loss dropped South Warren to 8 - 7 on the season. They will return to action on Thursday, Jan 9 at home against Monroe County. The Spartans defeated the Falcons 42-18 back on Nov. 21 in Tompkinsville.
SW 3 - 9 - 8 - 12 32
WE 15 - 12 - 12 - 9 48
SW: Litten 16, Smith 2, Haynes 2, Beckham 2, T. Vincent 4,
J. Vincent 4, Cassady 2
The Spartans moved their winning streak to 8 games with a 38-25 win over the host Raiders. A balanced scoring attack and good defense helped the Spartans move their record to 11-3 on the season. Bryan Cummings led the Spartans with 11 points as SW moved a 19-13 halftime lead into double digits in the 2nd half and they would keep throughout the rest of the game. Dawson Gibbs led the Raiders with 8 points.
The Spartans look to keep the winning streak alive when the Monroe County Falcons come to town. The Falcons have defeated South Warren twice this season 48-41 and 50-35. This looks to be an exciting matchup between two of the top teams in the conference. Be sure to come out to South Warren Thursday night for the game.
